We went to the Detroit Zoo for ZooBoo Saturday night!
My nephew & his family were in town from Chicago and we all thought it would be fun to go to this. Could have done without the rain, tho.
They had tons of displays (zoo animals, of course) set up made out of pumpkins and entertainments like jugglers, mimes and a "flash mob".
Construction workers outside the Penguin Conservation Center.
Pumpkin Penguins
We went in the amphibian house & they had it all decorated for Halloween!
There were skulls & skeletons & all sorts of fun things inside the exhibits.
Since it was chilly & raining, my glasses & camera on the phone fogged up as soon as we went inside. There is an alligator near the tree to the right of the witch.
a CHUCKwalla???
It's sitting on the skeleton!
This is where the "flash mob" was supposed to take place.
I don't think they quite understood what the definition of a flash mob is.
That huge skeleton was really cool, tho.
Can't go to the zoo without a picture by the fountain!
btw - the Kroger bag is Chuck's rain poncho!
Peacock
Skeleton gardeners
Next time we do this, we know to bring a bag for trick or treating!
They were giving our cartons of chocolate milk, cans of pop, bags of chips, apples and of course candy! My hoodie pockets were stuffed!
I was surprised at how many people were there despite the rain! But most everyone looked like they were having a good time.

One of those things is a big ol' turtle.

What a fun way to advertise their ZooLights event for winter!
