Macomb Center Cemetery

I could have sworn I've posted about this cemetery before, so I couldn't find it when I searched!
I have definitely visited there before.

This is a very small cemetery in the city of Macomb, in the county of Macomb, Michigan.
Find A Grave shows 178 memorials but I get a strong impression that there are quite a few unknown / unmarked. .
There's no sign, but it is fenced.

I'd love to know the story behind this one.

Find A Grave says the headstone was replaced by an 88 year old man named Walter after some kids shattered it.  He said this was all he could make out of the original stone.

FYI - the traditional meaning of coins on a military headstone....
Penny - I visited
Nickel - we trained together
Dime - we served together
Quarter - I was with you when you died.
