Post-Halloween thoughts

I don't like Halloween being on a Friday!  That'll go for Saturday, too.
Normally, we take everything down on November 1.  It all goes into the back yard, but it's gone from the front.  Like Poof.  It's part of the magic!

We opted to wait until Sunday 11/2 to take stuff down.  Which totally threw off my groove!
It just felt weird there on Saturday, not doing anything.  Then when we got up Sunday, it was 35*.   We've taken stuff down in the snow before, but we weren't feeling it this time.  So we waited until noon to get started, when it warmed up some.  The picture above was taken at 4pm.
The shack is currently still sitting out there (November 13) and the lawn still has not been mowed yet.

The Spouse and I both had November 3rd and 4th off work.  So Monday we got the extension cords rolled up (that's his peeve!) and floodlights boxed up, the headstones / sign / fence put away in the shed out back.  We lugged the coffin back (which I only opened this year to get the social media bricks out!) and put that away in the add-on behind the garage and pulled the Christmas blowmolds out so we could put the H'ween ones in first.  All that's left are the skeletons.  The humans go in the garage, which means pulling a whole lotta boxes & totes out. hanging them up, then putting the boxes & totes back in.

I don't know what to do with all the critters!!
I've heard Home Depot now has a tote that'll hold a 12' skeleton, so I might have to consider investing in 1 or 2 of those.  At least for the big skeletons - the horses, pig, goose, etc.   But then where to put the totes???

Some goblin took off with my H'ween notebook, too!  This is the one I jot down random notes in and refer back to it often.  I had it in my purse 10/30 when I left work, I took it out when I stopped at a store on my way home and I haven't seen it since.  GRRRR.  I'm 99.9998% sure I tossed it in one of the grandkids' carseats so it's got to still be in there somewhere.
Out of all the critter skeletons to play with, the granddaughter chooses the rat.
The grandson is a good helper, when he chooses to be!

The kids moved over half the blowmolds to the back yard before something else caught their attention.  They moved most of the headstones and were offended we didn't let them try to carry the big ones.
And they got about half of the critter skeletons moved to the back yard.
(I did the rest)
I hate to say it, but look at this picture from last year.

I definitely went crazy with the critters!
This year (see last post) looks really crowded.
So next year I better stay out of the stores and I'll for sure stay away from Tractor Supply!
I don't need to be going on the HalloweenForum, either since that's where I got a lot of heads-ups.

I updated my YouTube page with slideshows from 2023, 2024 & 2025.
The difference is insane.

Check out my office at work.
This guy was actually at Dunkin....
Glad I didn't have to wait for him to make my coffee!

So I have training with my search & rescue team usually the first Thursday of each month.  In November, we basically went over how to do a search at night without blinding our teammates.
It was a pretty easy training, we stayed mostly on the trails behind the main cabin at the camp we train at often, looking for things that someone might have dropped while lost - phones, boots, shirts, hats, etc (altho pants????)  Anyway.  I was checking out my side of the trail, and these things caught my attention...
This one was a piece of bark sticking up.
I'm pretty sure someone planted that cross in the tree stump, but it still looked pretty creepy/cool.

I think I need a clone to get everything finished.
Altho I'd rather be warm, I think I'd still have to clone go to work for me and I'd be outside putting stuff away.
